SA Business Lens welcomes corrections, complaints and constructive challenges to our reporting. Accuracy and accountability are essential to earning readers’ trust.
Requesting a correction
If you believe an article contains a factual error, email news@sabusinesslens.co.za. Please provide the article title or link, identify the information you believe is wrong and include reliable supporting evidence where possible.
How we assess requests
We review the published material, consult the underlying sources and seek further information where necessary. A disagreement with a conclusion or an unfavourable but accurate report does not by itself require a correction. However, relevant evidence and legitimate concerns will be considered fairly.
How corrections appear
- Minor spelling, formatting or grammatical errors may be corrected without a formal notice when they do not change the meaning.
- Material factual errors will be corrected promptly and the article will normally include a clear correction or update note.
- If an article is substantially unreliable, we may withdraw it and publish an explanation.
- We do not silently change material facts in a way that could mislead readers about the original report.
Complaints about fairness, privacy or conduct
Complaints concerning fairness, privacy, discrimination, conflicts of interest or other editorial conduct should be sent to news@sabusinesslens.co.za with the subject line “Editorial complaint”. Explain the concern, the outcome you are seeking and any relevant deadline.
Response and review
We aim to acknowledge substantive complaints within two business days and provide a considered response as soon as reasonably possible. Complex matters may require additional time. If you are dissatisfied with the initial response, you may request a further internal review and explain why you believe the outcome should be reconsidered.
Right of reply
Where appropriate, we may update an article to include a relevant response received after publication. A right of reply does not guarantee that a statement will be published in full or without verification and context.
Good-faith complaints
We handle complaints in good faith and expect correspondents to do the same. Abusive, threatening, repetitive or clearly bad-faith correspondence may not receive a response.
